In the heart of the snowiest village in the world, Damüls Mountain Rescue invites all winter guests to a very special evening voyage of discovery. Every Monday, from January 12 to March 30, 2026, the Storm Lantern Hike starts - a mysterious walk through the snow-covered mountains under a starry sky.
Meeting points are the valley station of the Uga-Express, the tourist office or the Ober-Damüls parking lot at 20:45. Transportation is provided by the mountain rescue service - both to the start and back to the accommodation. Participation is free of charge, registration is not required.
With mischievous lantern in hand, the participants (up to 30 people per group, German and English speaking) explore paved, family-friendly paths - accompanied by knowledgeable guides from the mountain rescue service. Fascinating stories, views of the sea of lights in Oberdamüls, encounters with foxes and hares and stationary highlights such as the forest ropes course, the biomass heating plant or night-time wildlife feedings await you along the way.
At the finish, visitors are greeted with a fine mulled wine - a warm end to a 40-60 minute walk.
