To make this as relaxed as possible, there's "Der Walser": a web app that guides you through the region - from the very first click.

What can you expect?
Opening times of inns and small stores, tips for events you don't want to miss and lots of ideas for hikes and excursions.

Your digital guest card
You can get the Bregenzerwald & Großes Walsertal Guest Card directly from your accommodation.
And the practical thing about it is that you can use it digitally in the "Der Walser" web app.
Between 1 May and 31 October, the card gives you all kinds of benefits: free travel, discounts and little extras to make your vacation even better.

And this is how it works
You register in the "Der Walser" web app - either via the link in the invitation email from your accommodation or directly here using the registration form.
As soon as your accommodation has registered you in the registration system with your email address, the digital guest card will also be activated - and you're ready to go.

FAQ for guests

How do I get my Digital Guest Card?

The digital guest card is activated by guests in Damüls Faschina in the web app "Der Walser". After you have provided your accommodation with the traveler's details (e.g. via pre-check-in), they will be recorded in the registration system. You will then receive an invitation email to the digital vacation companion "Der Walser" (at the earliest 2 weeks before arrival). There you can register via the link and activate your digital guest card and those of your fellow travelers.

Normally, only the main traveler receives an invitation email and can activate the guest cards of all fellow travelers and also send them to the fellow travelers (e.g. via WhatsApp).

When will I receive the invitation email for the web app from my accommodation?

The invitation email will be sent at the earliest two weeks before arrival, at the latest at check-in at the accommodation. The time may vary depending on the accommodation, as the time of registration in the registration system on the part of the accommodation is decisive. If you need your guest card for your arrival, please ask your accommodation to register in advance.

I have not received an invitation email from my accommodation, but I would still like to register for the web app "Der Walser". What can I do?

You can fill in the registration form above with your correct travel details. You will then receive an invitation email to the web app to your email address, where you can register and browse the app.

As soon as your accommodation has also registered you as a guest in the registration system with the same e-mail address, you can also activate your digital guest cards in the "Guest card" menu item. It is important that the email address from the registration form matches the one you have provided to your accommodation.

What do I have to do as soon as I have received an invitation email for the web app "Der Walser"?

In the invitation email there is a green, linked field with the title "Click here for the Walser web app". Click on the link and assign a password. Once you have successfully assigned a password, click on "Login". You can then log in with your login details. In the menu item "Guest card" you can activate your guest card and those of your fellow travelers. The guest cards of fellow travelers can be sent to them using the "Share" symbol below the respective guest card. Each person over the age of 6 needs their own guest card.

If you were already registered with the web app during your previous stay, the system will remember your login details. The invitation email will say "Welcome back" and the link field will say "Here is your new access link". You can log in with your old password or, if necessary, reset the password and create a new one.

How do people without their own smartphone get a digital guest card (e.g. children)?

The main traveler always receives all the guest cards of his/her fellow travelers. Guest cards can be sent to people who have their own smartphone. Guest cards for people who do not have their own smartphone (e.g. children) can be used on the smartphone of the main traveler.

Do I have to go back into my e-mail inbox every time to open the Digital Guest Card?

No! The web app can be saved on the home screen of the smartphone and is therefore accessible like an app at any time (instructions for saving the app on the home screen can be found on the start page of the app, menu item "Welcome" at the bottom). The guest cards are also available offline if they have already been preloaded.

Do I need an internet connection to access the digital guest card?

An internet connection is required when activating the digital guest card for the first time. Once the web app has been saved to the home screen (see above), it can be accessed at any time even without an internet connection. If the digital guest card has already been activated, it is also available offline as it is saved in the smartphone's cache.

I have registered for the web app using the registration form above, but I cannot activate my Digital Guest Card. What can I do?

Registration in the registration system by the accommodation is a prerequisite for the digital guest card. Some accommodations only register their guests on site at check-in. If you would like to use the digital guest card to travel by public transport, please contact your accommodation and ask them to create a pre-registration or a registration including the correct e-mail address or to enter the e-mail address if the guest has already registered.

I have registered for the web app via the invitation email from my accommodation, but I cannot activate my Digital Guest Card. What can I do?

Option 1: You are a group of less than 6 people. If you have registered with the app via the invitation email from your accommodation and your guest cards are not visible, there is probably a technical problem. In this case, please contact Damüls Faschina Tourismus T +43 5510 620.

Option 2: You are a travel group of more than 6 people and only the guest card of the main traveler is visible in your app. For travel groups, the accommodation must provide an e-mail address for each guest card. Guest cards without an email address are not displayed for travel groups for data protection reasons. To have the e-mail address stored for each guest, please contact your accommodation directly or Damüls Faschina Tourismus T +43 5510 620. You do not have to enter an e-mail address for each individual traveler. You can also use the same e-mail address for all guests in the travel group. This person will then receive all the group's guest cards and can send them to their fellow travelers.

Can I also use my digital guest card in parallel with my printed guest card?

Yes, if a guest card is printed out, it can also be activated digitally afterwards and used in parallel. However, if you have already activated the card online, your accommodation can create a duplicate for the printed card. The duplicate will have a different guest card number. If you still want to use the digital card afterwards, make sure that the card has been updated in the app and that the guest card numbers are identical. Otherwise you will no longer be able to use the digital guest card with the "old" guest card number.
