Provost's Office, St. Gerold

The Propstei St. Gerold, in the village of the same name, has belonged to the Swiss Benedictine monastery of Einsiedeln since the 13th century and, according to legend, was founded in the 11th century. Today, the monastery is a well-known place of spirituality and cultural events and its location and tranquillity make it a very special place in the Großes Walsertal. At this place of encounter, there are guided tours of the monastery complex, wine tastings, a path of the senses and silence, fine food and good wines. Therapy with horses is also offered in the adjoining riding hall.
