Angelika Kauffmann was one of the most important artists with a close connection to Schwarzenberg in the Bregenzerwald. Her father was from Schwarzenberg and after the death of her mother in 1757, she traveled to Schwarzenberg with her father, where they redesigned the local church together.
Almost invisible from the outside, the 450-year-old building contains a modern exhibition space in the former farm wing. Every year, changing themed exhibitions with original works by the famous painter are shown here.
