75 years of Head ... and brand ambassador Hubertus Hohenlohe
The entrepreneur Howard Head, who lived in the USA, was originally an aircraft engineer and recreational skier. He was not very satisfied with the equipment available in the 1940s - at that time people still skied exclusively on wooden skis - which is why he put his energy into the production of skis with a metal construction. The “Head Ski Company”, which he founded in 1950, is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. One of the most important production facilities is located in Kennelbach, where production began in 1969 on the former site of the Schindler company. Numerous well-known racers have celebrated success on skis from the Head brand - and this continues to this day.
One racer who has been competing on Head skis at major international events for decades and is one of the brand ambassadors is Hubertus von Hohenlohe, who competes for Mexico. He once attended school at the Mehrerau monastery in Bregenz. A selection of the racing suits he created will be integrated into the presentation on the history of the Head company.
